(R31) CRYSTAL PALACE CAMPAIGN - MEDIA RELEASE - 24 July 2000

Palace Licensing Application Adjourned

On 21 July at Bromley Magistrates Court the Licensing Justices agreed that the application by London & Regional Properties for 14 Liquor Licences at the proposed drive-on Crystal Palace Park multiplex would be heard at a later date. In view of the number of objections and issues raised, the Court needs time to look at all the material before being able to give a date, time and venue for the substantive hearing.

The Crystal Palace Campaign believes that the application for 14 liquor licences in a family Park is scandalous. Ken Lewington, Vice-Chairman, said,

“There is strong local concern at the proposed scale and concentration of licensing on this historic parkland site. We are being asked to oppose these licenses and will vigorously do so.”
